Michael C. Painton, MLA
Michael's love of the outdoors and garden design began with summers playing in his grandfather's garden and planting flowers with his mom and grandma in the hot Missouri sun. From those early years on the farm and then in his local Boy Scout Troop, Michael honed his skills. His first professional training in historic landscape architecture began at Southeast Missouri State University and then in graduate school at Ball State University's College of Architecture and Planning. From there he completed his thesis research at an historic plantation in Virginia and interned with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
His professional career spans nearly a decade and has specialized in historic and high-end residential design in the Indianapolis and Carmel areas. When he's not working, he spends his free time restoring a colonial revival house in Midtown Indy, traveling, antiquing, or throwing an over-the-top themed party.
Michael is very excited to be a chosen designer for the St. Margaret's Guild Decorators' Showhouse for 2016. His backyard design will be on display this Spring!
